A great success for Como and Silk in Paris with the international event at UNESCO’s world headquarters in Place de Fontenoy on Wednesday 13 February “The City of Como and its unique traditional knowledge” which included the attendance of the senior management of UNESCO: the Chinese Xing Qu, deputy director general, Stefania Giannini, assistant director-general for education and former Italian Minister of Education and the Italian ambassador to Unesco Massimo Riccardo. Massimo Riccardo, the Italian ambassador to UNESCO, acted as host and pointed out Como’s excellent features mentioning the lake, Alessandro Volta inventor of the battery and, clearly, silk. On behalf of UNESCO deputy director general Xing Qu welcomed the ambassadors and the Como delegation and praised Como and its extraordinary excellence with silk.
